"The team at Waste Source have been pivotal in helping us transform our waste collections"

Boston Tea Party has come a long way since it started out on Park St in Bristol nearly 20 years ago with a mission to serve simple and well-prepared food and drinks made with great ingredients, skill and love. It’s a recipe that has since seen it grow to 24 sites across the South West. A member of the Sustainable Restaurant Association, the team has always focussed on ethical operation.

Waste Source took over the waste management at all five Bristol sites in 2013, with an ambition to streamline operations and improve recycling rates. We looked at how requirements could be consolidated at each site, managing the removal of mixed recycling, glass and general waste by individual contractors. We provided Boston Tea Party staff with a single point of contact, as well as simplifying billing to a single invoice for each site.

The team at Boston Tea Party were obviously pleased with the results: they subsequently asked us to take over waste management at all of their other sites. Recently opened premises have now taken the tally to 17.

Waste Source also conceived and implemented food waste collections at some branches, creating a blueprint to be rolled out across the area. This has led to a significant reduction of foodstuff heading to landfill and helped build on Boston Tea Party’s commitment to sustainability.
